Surgical Case 1
This lady requested treatment for protrusive upper front teeth and a deep bite. The main problem was a small lower jaw. The teeth were aligned with braces and the lower jaw was lengthened surgically. Treatment time was 18 months.

The orthodontic plan
The teeth are aligned, spaces are closed and the front teeth are decompensated so that they can fit together properly at surgery.
The surgical plan
From left to right. First, the lower jaw is divided into three segments (dotted red lines). Then, the front section is moved forward about 7 mm. Finally, the segments are stabilised using plates and screws.
